This multi-volume work on Russian military costume was created in mid-XIX c. Its' positive side was it was largest work on the subject; amount of information and quality of illustrations impress indeed.<br />Its' drawback was in poor research of written sources, iconography and survived items. Illustrations are also not up to modern state of knowledge of the subject.<br />Still, till 1980's it was the only source of information about Russian GNW uniforms.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
