While on the subject of our favourite Lawson's here are a couple more really evocative pieces. Dragoons really were dragoons in this era, which I suppose means duplicate figures on the table - unless figure designers did a pairing like the Lawson Horse Grenadier below. Would that work?

ReplyDeleteI have the old partizan press book on Sedgemoor by John Tincey. Do you know if the new partizan book has a lot of new information or is it more a case of a glossy/colour approach?

I don't know - I haven't seen the new version - I suppose there's only so much information but then it depends how well thumbed your old version is
ReplyDeleteJust picked up The Armies & Uniforms of the Monmouth Rebellion by Christopher Scott a Partizan special Edition. very nice book in their current style & format. illustrations by Lesley Prince, Bob Marrion, C Farmer and Alan Turton. First 12 pages background, chronology the remaining 110 pages on the uniforms, regiments, roles organisation etc nice colour pics of Flags v Nice presentation overal.
