Culloden (1964)
Can you believe it? Been doing this blog for ten years and more and I haven't posted the Watkin's BBC documentary on Culloden. I saw this when it came out.
Bought the DVD a few years ago. Very nice... Well, apart from the drums... Aargh! Just can't help hating screwed drums except they've been made after 1830... :-)))

ReplyDeleteIIRC we were shown this at school for some reason or other. Could be wrong as it's over 40 years ago now! Excellent viewing none the less.
ReplyDeleteA product of its time and well done too. A noble yet ill led cause if not one with not that much chance of success. Super film.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the film owed a lot more to the 1960s rather than the 1740s.
ReplyDeleteBeen to the battlefield twice never seen this well posted
ReplyDeleteI saw this film when I was 8. A sharp reality check as to the realities of how horrible war can be.
