The Nafziger Collection has been publishing Military History of Louis XIV, which was written by a veteran, the Marquis de Quincy (and, probably, other veterans, as well) in 1726, and is now being translated into English. So far, there are 15 volumes, from 1643-1705, describing battles on land and sea, sieges, skirmishes, marches, strategy and tactics, uprisings, etc. For further information, see www.nafzigercollection.com. Other publications that cover this period are also available.
Thank you, Ralph!
