This is a nice little booklet if you can find it - tells the story of the descent by the French in 1760 Northern Ireland. Kronoskaf on it.
This is the French force (from Kronoskaf)
land force under the command of Brigadier-general M. de Flobert (as of October 1759 but now reduced to only 1,345 men)

- Maison du Roi
- Gardes Françaises (300 men)
- Gardes Suisses (200 men)
- Infantry (1,000 men) from the following regiments (probably the same contingent who had served at Louisbourg in 1758):
- Hussars of an unidentified unit (50 men)
- Corps Royal de l'Artillerie (5 miners and 2 gunners)
Excellent sir. Good to see Charlie's book get the recognition it deserves.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if anyone can help. As a resident of the Isle of Man, I am currently researching the Battle of Bishops Court which ended Thurot's invasion of Carrickfergus. I am having difficulty in finding a copy of this book and wondered if anyone knows where a copy could be purchased. Failing that a copy on loan would be most appreciated.
