I can't believe I have never posted this on this blog before. If you are my age then you probably watched this in the late 60s. I used to watch it although the plot was a bit beyond my ken. The song which was part of the appeal was only on the British version. Wiki
A great song and opening sequence that always reminds me of watching it on a Saturday morning during the Summer holidays:).
ReplyDeleteI actually have this on DVD. I think there were two other French series. One was about Crusaders and one about some airforce pilots.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this - happy memories!
ReplyDeleteLOL - as soon as I saw the image, I recognised it! I have searched YouTube several times but can only find the opening song, a few snippets of the programme, and several piss take versions where people have added new dialogie - often in humerous British regional accents - I am thinking Geordie here! Shame the whole series isnt there really, although it is probably awful! I was always rooting for the Spaniards as I thought they looked more like "proper" soldiers, being in uniform and all!
ReplyDeleteI have the full boxed set DVD, including the final episode which I think was never aired on TV in UK.
ReplyDeleteHappy memories...

I similarly have this on DVD and converted my daughter into a fan. A stirring sound track and a cracking TV series from my childhood. We were humming the theme tune together a few weeks ago when we were just about to start a long descent on a ski run. The rest of the people in the party just looked totally blank. As mentioned above there was also one about Crusaders.
