Peter the Great's hat

This is the hat Peter bought when he was working in the shipyards of Amsterdam in the early 18thc. Anyone know if it's a Monmouth cap?

A Monmouth cap looks like a modern beanie.

I do not know if I would term it a "Monmouth" yet I would say there are some Monmouth type features on it. The large brim and the body of the cap suggests that it is a plain knit cap that mimics the style of hats of the period.
