Johan Filip Lemke
I thought I'd write a few biographical details about this great battle painter. Born in 1631 in Nuremberg, died in 1711 or 13 in Stockholm Sweden. Went to Sweden in 1683 and started work on paintings based on drawings by Erik Dahlbergh. Some of the paintings suffered from poor cleaning in the 1700s. This painting the Battle of Halmstad 1676 he did in 1684.Sunday, 13 July 2008
Tåget över bält by Johan Philip Lemke

Beautiful paintings by someone who seems to be the Scandinavian Van der Meulen. They depict the crossing of the Great Belt between Zealand and Lolland in 1658 by Charles X of Sweden. Translated page on the Dano-Swedish war 1657-8 here
