Happy St. George's Day

For St. George's day. The 36th. Late 90s. They used to do a week long event every year at Corgarff Castle and they always used to invite me but I always declined. Now of course they are no more and no more invites. Moral of the story? If you get invited to do something do it.

The Draughtsman's contract soundtrack 1982

Yesterday we watched the film the Favourite which was about Sarah Churchill. Of course it shared similarities with the art film the Draughtsman's Contract which we loved when it came out. Much of the appeal of the film is a result of the Michael Nyman soundtrack. Spotify album here

The Somerset Levels

I picked up a book South-West England from the air by Ian Hay. This photo of the Somerset Levels I liked.

Revell Seven Years War

Back in the early 90s I got into plastic again. Again, as when I was a kid I collected them. The Revell figures were pleasant and they were cheap. I painted loads of them. There was an offer you would get free enamels with a coupon. I used to use enamels for the metallics so it was a win. Prussian infantry were my favourites. I thought they were excellent sculpts.  Plastic soldier review Prussian infantry here. Austrian infantry here and Austrian artillery here. Prussian Hussars here.
