Lansdown 1643

Being near Bath if I was to wargame the ECW I think I would do the Lansdowne campaign. It has Haselrig's Lobsters, Cornish Foot and well-matched commanders. Read about it here

Roundway Down is interesting battlefield as well above Devizes, i walked it a few years ago and saw the cliff and bloody ditch area that many came to grief in fleeing the battlefield. The lobsters got stuffed that day!

Certainly an interesting battle and battlefield, visible from my attic window. I built the armies in 54mm for a school project my oldest son was doing, but the terrain is a bit awkward in that scale!

..as Fraxinus says, Roundway is interesting too, but more of a cavalry battle than an infantry one...

My project is based on Edgehill, but I may switch to my local battle, Cheriton..
