The review on IMDB says
One of the most awful films I have seen in the last years. All actors' play is unsatisfactory, almost nothing left from the original book which is interesting and very good, so no surprise the author asked to take off his name from the film titles.

The Russians who commented on this film were very critical of it calling it fantasy and trash

It looks better then the Russian TV / movie trash for the Peter the Great Era (The Sovereign's Servant, The secret service agent's memories etc.)

Worth a look I reckon. Always sparks off an idea or two.
