In 2026, the 350th anniversary of the Battle of Lund will be celebrated with a series of events.
In order to retake Skåne, Halland and Blekinge that had been lost to Sweden, Denmark declared war in the autumn of 1675. The fighting lasted until 1679, when peace was concluded in Lund. Today, the good relationship with Denmark is an important part of our everyday life. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the event – both to highlight the peaceful relations we have today and to remember the tragedies that have occurred.
