Helen Mirren, love her ... a great actress, apparently with a flair for despotic (ok, "enlightened") female autocrats ... ;-)
It's an HBO series, so ... but still ... will there be enough stress on what Rowlandson thought was her most remarkable trait ... ?

Mirren is great but, well, she's so ... slim ... and only half Russian ... while Catherine was ... in her later years ... not so slim, and .. throughout life ... a 100 % German ... :-)))
Ok, as a Brit one is accustomed to German sovereigns ... :- D
This series is something to look forward to, a must have ... I have to have it!
