Tercios Españoles
We can't really talk about Tercios without mentioning the movie Alatriste. I haven't actually seen the film but I have seen clips of it and it looks worth tracking down.
The "Alatriste" DVD has been amongst my Amazon "Saved for Later" items for some time now, but I've never gotten around to actually ordering it.
I've read several of the Alatriste novels and liked them, but the thought of the books being mixed together chaotically in one film rather dims my enthusiasm for watching it.
Nice visuals though, Ralphus. Perhaps I will give it a go one of these days.
I have seen the movie and am now novels in to the books. The movie is splendid 17th century eye-candy but pales to the fun (and the spirit) of the books.
