More on the regiment here
Has anyone tried to download this article by John Childs THE BRITISH BRIGADE IN FRANCE, 1672–1678? I've tried to sign up to read it but I don't like buying something I don't know the price of. Be interested if anyone else has tried. Image of Monmouth is from 1672/3 by an unknown artist

forget it! 30 dollars for a five page article!
I don't know if the article is still wanted, but I might help with it.
Wienand,
I think, as much as anything, that I (can't speak for Ralphus) would like to know how it differs (if it does) from Appendix D in Childs' "The Army of Charles II", which has the same title as the article. I know we would both appreciate any assistance that you might provide, but I would like to find out if it's a "re-hash" of the same material, as I have Childs book already.

Bill,
First and foremost, the article elaborates more on the operation of the brigade, its composition, recruiting, etc. Also how the relationship between the Brigade and the French changed after 1674 when England had signed peace with the Dutch Republic.
It does not detail the order of battle and officers that much, which has been done in Appendix D of course, and focuses more on the rank and file.
I have the article as pdf, if interested.
I may do an article on the British Brigade in French service on my blog one day. My main focus will be lineage of the regiments, as that is my major interest.

I'd be interested in that PDF - Ralph

Wienand
Wienand (or Ralphus);
I would also greatly appreciate a copy of that pdf file. It might help me with some research I'm doing on Turenne's Palatinate campaign in 1674. Thanks!
