Shirts

Found quite a bit about linen shirts in New France on this google books site. I have a feeling there was an ordonnance shirt in about the 1690s designed to avoid waste of materials. This pattern by Suzanne Gousse might be the way to go for making the perfect linen shirt.
Canadians often worked in summer in nothing but their chemises and also fought in summer campaigns in shirtsleeves.
