The Libertine (2004)

This film was a bit of a disappointment. The casting - Malkovich as Charles II, Depp as Wilmot and so on made me have high expectations for this film but it is a kind of lacklustre affair - not very memorable and a bit dull. Don't just take my word for it - 32 per cent was the Rotten Tomatoes rating who described it as A confusing, monotonous, unattractive drama, Libertine mires its talented cast in a squalid, self-indulgent mess. The music by Michael Nyman is OK, the best bit is a recycled tune from other movies. Wiki here
