This miniseries... do you remember it? Wiki on it. Set in the '45 and beyond in the wider world - it is based on a novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. It follows the rivalry between two brothers for their father's title and lands and for Alison, with the father having insisted one brother supports the existing King George and the other supports the claims of Bonnie Prince Charlie in order to keep the lands and inheritance safe.

I don't remember that one - but the 1975 TV version (with Brian Cox, Brigit Forsyth, Fulton Mackay etc.) made a big impression at the time!

Yes, I do! Remember it being pretty good. Watched it with my mother and grandmother on TV back when people used to settle down after dinner with a second cup of coffee to watch things together.
