Samurai reenactment
I know it's not really pike and shot but what the heck - it's interesting I think to look around the world - this festival in 2008 looks well done. Photos here
Oh contraire mon amie. (Like the French touch there?) I think they had long two-handed poles that were pointed. If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck then it must be a pike. (get that? it must be a pike. you know a fish. Aw you have no sense of humor)
Not having a pike is not what's wrong with the film. IT'S COMPLETELY OUT OF YOUR TIME PERIOD. Whew I feel so much better. Other than that I enjoyed it. Thanks.

incidently, the word "FIRE" for guns is "UTAE"!
The firearms the Samurai had came via the Portuguese.
Has someone noted that the largest part of these groups were made of womaen?
