Someone who was active in the Roundhead Association when I was involved 40 years ago was Preacher Padget - spelling may be wrong. I think he was in Overton's. He was on the tv program 'That's Life' a couple of times for living a 17th century lifestyle, using quill pens by candlelight, that sort of thing and driving a bus for his day job. A fine preacher who put everything into it. I remember we were at the Naseby monument and he gave an address 'and I call out Emmanuelle, Emmanuelle, Emmanuelle' and some wag said 'Emmanuelle 3'.

I remember him from ECWS. Used to live like he was in the 17th Century. I think he was actually a bit bonkers.
Most reenactors are a bit bonkers - myself included.
